Hallam Choral Society
Hallam Choral Society is your local community choir, with more than 65% of its
members living within walking distance of the Community Hall, but we welcome
singers from all over the city.
The choir meets
each Monday from 7.45 pm to 9.45 pm. It gives three public concerts each year
in local churches (Spring Autumn and Christmas) plus two concerts - one of light
music in the summer, and one of festive songs and carols at Christmas - both
in the Community Hall.
If you are interested in singing, we presently have a waiting list for Sopranos,
but Altos Tenors and Basses are always welcome.
Further information
can be obtained from our Secretary, Margaret Pill (248 9670), and our Chair
Kate Nettleship (234 8679). If you enjoy music, but are not a singer, why not
come to our concerts - and bring your friends!
Ladies Keep Fit
Do you want to get fit and tone up those wobbly bits? Then come along to Ladies
Keep Fit on Mondays from 1.45 pm until 2.45 pm in the Community Hall. We perform
low-impact aerobics and stretching exercises to enjoyable music in a relaxed
and friendly atmosphere. Unfortunately, the crèche is no longer available. We
pay on a weekly basis (about £2.00) New members of all ages are always welcome.
Just wear comfortable clothing and trainers and come along and give it a go.
