Hallam Art Group
The Art Group has a full membership of 70 and continues to have a waiting list. When vacancies arise, priority is given to people residing in the Hallam area. During the year we have enjoyed a number of very good demonstrations, which have included Geoff Kersey, one of our members, and who is a professional and has published two books.
We have held our usual exhibitions in the Hallam Community Hall at Christmas
and Spring. We have also held a three-day exhibition in the Botanical Gardens,
and we have exhibited at The Great Sheffield Art Show. All our exhibitions have
been well attended. We also continue to exhibit pictures in the Blackbrook Road
and Broomhill Surgeries, and in the Forge Dam Cafe. The public visiting
our exhibitions have shown their appreciation by donating generously to the
Sick Children's Trust (Tree Top House), the Sheffield Royal Society for the
Blind, and Friends of the Botanical Gardens.
We do not provide lessons at our meetings, which are held weekly on Thursday
evenings, but help and advice from our professional members is always available.
If you wish to add your name to our waiting list please contact us as below.

Walking
Attention all walkers!
This weekly walking section has proved a great success with a very varied choice of countryside walks of 3 to 4 miles or so every fortnight on Thursday mornings. Due to their popularity, a longer walk is usually led on alternate Thursdays, with all the venues arranged in advance. Just phone for details of you would like to try this fun and beneficial form of exercise. All ages are most welcome.

Wine Guild
If you enjoy drinking wine and possibly making wine and beer, then come along and enjoy our meetings. New members are always welcome.
Our meetings cover a variety of activities that are nearly always wine related. When the group was founded over 25 years ago the emphasis was mainly on home-made wines and beers, but now we are more intent on exploring (tasting) the vast array of exciting wines that are available commercially. However, in our calendar, we retain one evening for home-made wine and beer competitions.
We mainly organise in-house wine tastings and food and wine evenings. In addition, we will be organising a Bonfire Night Barbecue, and a Burns Night.
This is an active, extremely social group that meets on every alternate Thursday evening, usually at 8 pm.
If you are interested then give the secretary a ring and learn more about the programme.
